Well done to Aoife for making our fun class Kahoot quiz this week. Well done to Lucy and Tom for coming first and second on the quiz. Great fun! Lots of hard work by Aoife to make the quiz. If anyone wants to make a quiz they can send me the questions and four possible answers in a word document as they don't allow children create a Kahoot challenge quiz for sharing with the class so it has to be typed up on my account.
Balancing Act: This week's challenge is to get two forks, one two euro coin and a glass. You have to balance the two forks on the glass using the two euro coin. They are not allowed to touch the glass - only the 2 euro coin can! We're still struggling to get them to balance. If you succeed send me your photos!
Maths Puzzle: This weeks puzzle - how many squares are there? Send me your answers. First guess is Ethan's guess of 32. Good guess Ethan but there are more squares. Lucy guessed 45 - getting closer! Well done Ethan and Lucy. Keep guessing.

John Boyne's Short Story Competition
Well done Tom and Lucy for sending your short stories! The Temple of Peril By Tom Marahabaan from Cairo, the bustling capital city of Egypt! I’m Joshua and I’m here with my family but already I miss my pet tortoise, Neo. He likes nothing better than disappearing in the crisp golden autumn leaves which blend perfectly with his shell! It’s 41 degrees and I’m queuing to buy ice-cream. I look at the pistachio and the colour reminds me of Neo. I hope cousin Caleb is taking good care of him. The ice-cream was an explosion of flavour on my tongue. Cooled down, we climb into a taxi. Today is going to be awesome. We are going on to see the pyramids of Giza. One and a half hours and a lot of queuing later, we’re in the pyramid! It’s dark and gloomy. “There is a myth” says the tour guide, “that there is a tomb of riches hidden in this pyramid”. We finally reached the part of the tour that I’m most excited for. The Mummy Maze. We scattered into the maze, frantically looking for the exit. We found ourselves alone and out of nowhere a Mummy cornered us! A trap door opened and we slid through a sandy tunnel, landing with a thump. I squinted into the gloomy room. All of a sudden, torches burst into flames illuminating the tomb. It was filled with gems, goblets, gold as far as the eye could see and the Pharaoh’s tomb! I realised I had found more money than I could spend in a lifetime! I was rich!!! I went to pack as much as I could into my rucksack, when a thought struck me. “This has been here forever. I should leave it secret forever”. Back home, I only shared my secret with Neo. But he doesn’t believe me.
The Roam by Lucy I’m having so much fun off the lead with a lovely rosey red and pumpkin orange sunset above me. My family are here, playing football together. Sometimes I can feel left out as I wish they would throw the ball for me but I don’t think that’s going to happen. Hi, my name is Belle, I'm a 2 year old brunette and white springer spaniel and I love roaming. As I started sniffing multiple flowers and scents of other dogs, I felt like I was in my own world but maybe too much so, as when I finished sniffing I'm pretty sure I was in the middle of nowhere. I could see nothing but lime green grass. Of course my family probably didn’t notice. They were having enough fun without me. I really didn’t know what to do, so I just started strolling along to see if I could spot one living thing. Surprisingly I spotted a badger. I think he spotted me too, he was coming towards me. I told him everything that happened. He told me he was very lonely but decided to help me. That really shows a great personality. He showed me the way to the nearest café. When we walked in through the huge maroon door, I saw nothing, apart from a man who worked there. I snuck into the kitchen and snitched three slices of ham. YUMMY. When I devoured my last slice of ham the man walked in......... “HEY, GET OUT OF HERE YOU FILTHY ANIMAL” he screamed. As soon as I saw him, I ran, but maybe a bit too fast as out of nowhere this baby blue car came racing in and hit me …...... I opened my eyes just a little bit and heard some familiar voices, they were the people I desperately wanted to see right now, my family! They came running towards me and hugged me so much, I’VE NEVER FELT THIS MUCH LOVE BEFORE!
